How are tutors vetted?

 All tutors have undergo the following checks before undertaking any classes with us:

  • Enhanced CRB/DBS check

  • Character and professional references

  • Interview

  • Proof of qualifications.

 

Where will tuition take place?

Our tutors normally attend the student's home, though if this is not suitable for any reason we will work with you to determine a suitable location. Online tuition is always available as a default.

 

How do you manage quality of service?

Our recruitment process ensures that we select only high-quality tutors - indeed, most are current serving teachers or recently retired professionals, and all have good references. We constantly seek feedback to ensure we are doing our best to meet students' needs.

How do I pay for tuition?

Culverden Tutors will invoice you following the lesson; various payment methods will be available.

How often will tuition take place?

You can schedule lessons with the tutor as required.

What if I can’t find the subject I need on your list?

We are constantly growing our pool of tutors so our subject list regularly changes. Let us know what you need and we will try to accommodate you.

I don't live in the West Kent/East Sussex area but would like to use your services – is this possible?

Yes, our tutors are experienced in teaching online.

What are the advantages of one-to-one tuition?

Tutors can readily adapt their approach to the student's learning needs. Additionally, one-to-one tuition can help to build confidence, particularly amongst students who are more reticent in large classroom groups.
